How do I get to the Kendall County Courthouse?
The Kendall County Courthouse is located in Yorkville, IL. People sometimes get lost on their way to the courthouse because there is a historic courthouse in downtown Yorkville. That building, however, has government offices and no longer serves as an actual courthouse. The correct address is 807 W John St, Yorkville, IL 60560. The easiest way to get to the courthouse is taking U.S. Highway 34 and turning south onto Beecher Street if coming from the west, or turning south on Cannonball Trail if coming from the east.
At what time does the courthouse open?
The Kendall County Courthouse has one of the earliest start times of any other courthouse in Illinois. The building opens to the public at 8:00 a.m.
At what time does the Kendall County Courthouse close?
The courthouse officially closes to the public at 4:30 p.m. Any persons who are still present in the courthouse will be escorted out of the building by the Kendall County Sheriff. If you have a pending trial or motion, however, the courthouse will remain open until the completion of the motion or trial.
Does the Kendall County Courthouse have official translators?
Yes. Kendall County offers court interpreters for people who require their assistance. Interpreters are offered for defendants, victims, and witnesses. You won’t be able to just walk to their office, as it is in an area of the courthouse that is not open to the public. Who are the Criminal Judges in Kendall County?
Judge Robert Pilmer serves as both the chief judge and handles many of the felony criminal cases in Kendall County. If you are charged with a serious offense, there is a good chance that you will appear before Judge Pilmer. He is well-known for wearing bowties instead of the traditional tie. His courtroom is courtroom 115.
Judge Lisa Accardi is newest lawyer to put on the black robe in Kendall County, filling judge Voiland vacancy after he retired earlier this year. Judge Accardi handles the traffic, misdemeanor, and felony retail theft matters in Kendall County. You should know that Judge Accardi has been a prosecutor, public defender, GAL and private attorney, so she had over two decades of legal experience before becoming a judge. For minors charged with crimes, Judge Sharon Gleason currently serves as the juvenile delinquency judge. Which Courtroom Will Hear My Case?
If you are charged with a serious crime, then your case would most likely be assigned to courtroom 113. But if you are charged with a misdemeanor or traffic offense, then your case will probably be heard in 114. And if your case is a juvenile proceeding, then it will be heard in 116. Please note: Cases can be reassigned to different judges. You should check in with the clerk or bailiff to make sure that you are in the right courtroom.
How is Kendall County Different from Other Counties?
Kendall County has no deferred prosecution programs. As a result, the resolution of cases in Kendall County is very different from the resolution of cases of its neighbors, DeKalb and Kane Counties.
Kendall County does offer treatment courts, including Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Veteran’s Court. The rules for entry into these court programs are once again different from the rules in neighboring counties.

If you are charged with a felony, then you will probably appear in front of Judge Pilmer. Judge Pilmer allows zoom appearances for all status dates. However, for misdemeanors, traffic, and juvenile, you’ll need permission in advance to appear by zoom.
